The Responsible Down Standard is owned and managed by Textile Exchange. Textile Exchange is a global non-profit that works closely with our members to drive industry transformation in preferred fibers, integrity and standards and responsible supply networks. They identify and share best practices regarding farming, materials, processing, traceability and product end-of-life in order to reduce the textile industry’s impact on the world’s water, soil and air, and the human population.
China is rich in feather resources, accounting for about two-thirds of the world’s output. At the same time, the warmth of down is far better than that of other thermal products, with greater product advantages. It is estimated that the warmth of down is 89.2%: the warmth of cotton is 83.9%. The warmth of synthetic fiber is 81.7%, which ensures that down products are the first in the competition of thermal products. At the same time, with the industrial transfer around the world, more and more countries have become importers of feather products, which also provides opportunities for China’s down products to export.
